For normal shopping in Split, choose between Joker Center, Mall of Split, and City Center One Split.

Go to Joker Center if you want the closest shopping center to the city center. Go to Mall of Split if you want the biggest indoor shopping option. Go to City Center One Split if you are already on the eastern side of Split or want another large mall with many familiar brands.

Shopping centers are useful on rainy days, very hot summer afternoons, or when you need clothes, shoes, electronics, cosmetics, groceries, pharmacy items, or a simple indoor lunch break.

Main shopping centers in Split

Split is not a large shopping destination like Zagreb, but it has enough malls for normal visitor needs. The three most useful shopping centers are Joker Center, Mall of Split, and City Center One Split.

If you are staying in the old town, Riva, Bačvice, or near the ferry port, Joker is usually the simplest choice. If you want a bigger mall experience, plan for Mall of Split or City Center One, which are farther from the old town.

Joker Center is the most convenient shopping center if you are staying near the old town or central Split. It is not directly inside Diocletian’s Palace or on the Riva, but it is much closer to the center than the larger eastern malls.

This is a good choice if you need a practical shopping stop without turning it into a half-day trip. Visitors usually come here for clothes, shoes, cosmetics, groceries, pharmacy-style items, electronics, coffee, lunch, or the cinema.

Joker is also useful if the weather changes suddenly. On a rainy day or a very hot afternoon, it gives you an easy indoor break without going far from the center.

Mall of Split

Best for: biggest mall choice, fashion brands, longer indoor shopping, family break
Location type: large modern mall outside the old town

Mall of Split is one of the largest shopping centers in the city. It is better than Joker if you want more shops, more indoor space, and a fuller mall experience.

This is the place to choose when shopping is part of the plan, not only a quick errand. It works well for clothes, shoes, sportswear, cosmetics, electronics, children’s items, groceries, and casual food.

The main downside is location. Mall of Split is not in the historic center, so you will usually go by local bus, taxi, app ride, or car. It makes sense if you want to spend more time indoors or if you are already staying in the eastern part of Split.

City Center One Split

Best for: large mall shopping, familiar brands, eastern Split, car access
Location type: large shopping center on the edge of Split

City Center One Split is another large shopping center on the eastern side of the city. It is useful if you want a full mall with many familiar shops and easy indoor browsing.

For tourists, it is usually not the first choice if you are staying in the old town because it is farther away. But it can be a good option if you have a car, stay near Žnjan, Stobreč, Podstrana, or the eastern neighborhoods, or want to compare shops with Mall of Split.

Choose City Center One when convenience from your location matters more than being close to the old town.

Which one should you choose?

Choose Joker Center if you are near the city center and want the easiest option. It is the most practical mall for a quick visit from central Split.

Choose Mall of Split if you want the largest shopping choice and do not mind traveling outside the center.

Choose City Center One Split if you are already on the eastern side of Split, have a car, or want another large mall option.

When shopping centers are useful

Shopping centers in Split are especially useful when:

• it rains
• it is too hot to walk around the old town
• you need clothes, shoes, or swimwear
• you need electronics, chargers, or small travel items
• you want groceries in one place
• you are traveling with children and need an indoor break
• you have time before check-in, a ferry, or a later bus

Practical tips

• Check current opening hours before going, especially on Sundays and holidays.
• Do not expect malls to be beside the old town; only Joker is relatively central.
• Use a taxi or app ride if you are carrying many bags.
• If you are staying without a car, compare travel time before choosing Mall of Split or City Center One.
• In summer, malls can be a good midday break between sightseeing and an evening walk.
