Bol and Zlatni Rat Beach from Split
How to visit Bol and Zlatni Rat beach on Brač from Split by ferry, bus, or catamaran, with practical day-trip advice.

Reading time: about 2 minutes.
Too Long, Didn’t Read
Bol and Zlatni Rat are possible as a day trip from Split, but you must plan ferry, catamaran, or bus timing carefully.
The classic flexible route is Split to Supetar by ferry, then Supetar to Bol by bus, then walk from Bol to Zlatni Rat. In season, a catamaran to Bol may be simpler if the timetable works.
Go early, check return times before leaving Split, and do not treat this like a casual beach stop.
Why go to Bol and Zlatni Rat?
Zlatni Rat is one of Croatia’s most famous beaches. It sits near Bol on the south side of Brač and is known for its distinctive shape, clear water, and open views.
This is a good trip if you want an island beach day and are comfortable coordinating transport.
If you want an easier beach day, stay in Split and choose Kašjuni, Žnjan, Bene, or Bačvice.
Route option 1: ferry to Supetar plus bus to Bol
This is the most common year-round route.
The plan:
- Take the ferry from Split to Supetar.
- Take a bus or transfer from Supetar to Bol.
- Walk from Bol to Zlatni Rat.
- Return to Supetar in time for the ferry back to Split.
This works well if the ferry and bus times match. Check the return before you go, not after arriving in Bol.
Route option 2: catamaran to Bol
In season, a catamaran connection to Bol can be easier because it brings you directly to the town.
The limitation is timing. Some boat schedules may suit overnight stays better than day trips, so check both directions before committing.
