In Croatia, the most important emergency number is 112. Use it for police, ambulance, firefighters, accidents, danger at sea, mountain rescue, or any serious emergency.

When to call 112

Call 112 when something is urgent and you need help from emergency services.

Examples:

  • traffic accident
  • serious injury
  • medical emergency
  • fire
  • crime in progress
  • danger at sea
  • missing person
  • mountain or hiking emergency
  • severe weather danger
  • any situation where you are not sure which service you need

Stay calm and say where you are. If you do not know the address, describe nearby landmarks, beach name, hotel, street, restaurant, ferry port, or GPS location from your phone.

Call 192 for police emergencies, theft, assault, serious disturbance, traffic incident, or if you need urgent police help.
